2024 – Present
Open-source CLI tool that bundles Flutter apps into Windows installers, replacing the complex MSIX/certificate workflow.
Why it exists
Shipping a Flutter app on Windows meant wrestling with MSIX packaging and code-signing certificates — heavy machinery for developers who just want to hand users an installer. Inno Bundle wraps Inno Setup in a friendly CLI that figures out app metadata from your pubspec.yaml and produces a proper EXE installer.
What it does
- Generates the initial installer configuration in your
pubspec.yamlautomatically - Builds the app and the installer with a single command
- Bundles the required MSVC redistributable DLLs so the app runs on end-user machines missing them
- Ships a GitHub Actions workflow demo that builds the installer and publishes it to GitHub Releases with versioning
- Documents configuration and CLI options on the GitHub wiki
Usage
dart pub add dev:inno_bundle
dart run inno_bundle
Reception
- Verified publisher (hahouari.com) on pub.dev, MIT licensed
- 12K+ monthly downloads at peak, 150 pub points
